Are You a Sensitive Person?

Your answer to our title probably was not in the same vein that we intended it. What we are interested in is the ability of your senses to perceive small sensations. David made an astute observation in Psalms 139:14 when he said, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and that my soul knoweth right well."

One part of your fearful and wonderful makeup is your ability to perceive the world around you. Consider how sensitive your body is. You can:

• Feel a pressure that dents your skin .00004 inches.
• See a candle flame 30 miles away under ideal conditions.
• Smell one drop of perfume anywhere in a three-room apartment.
• Taste 0.4 ounce of table salt dissolved in 530 quarts of water.
• Feel a bee's wing falling on your cheek from less than a half inch away.
• Distinguish over 300,000 different color variations.
• Tell the direction a sound came from based on a .00003- second difference between when it reached your two ears.

We are fearfully and wonderfully made, a temple worth taking care of (1 Cor. 3:16).
