NOTE TO PARENTS

You may wish to further your child’s learning by purchasing a magnifying glass and allowing the child to experiment with observing various objects through the magnifying lens. Objects will appear to be larger than they really are. A child can observe the inverted image by holding a magnifying glass at arm’s length (or more) and looking at a distant object — it will appear upside down. In the human eye the image is placed on the retina in an inverted position. Our brain is designed with the ability to invert an image, making what we see match with what we experience.
